I was born in the historical heart of New Delhi, Raised amid the vibrant culture of Indonesia, Educated in India’s creative corridors and shaped by experiences across the world.
While studying fashion at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai, I discovered my true calling in the intricate world of embroidery and surface design. While many were drawn to silhouettes and styling, I felt instinctively pulled towards the quiet power of Indian artisans, material resource and cross border cultures - The soul of ZARI Embroideries.
I returned to the very institute that shaped me - This time as a student mentor and craft expert. It was here I learned to Teach it, Share it and Expand its reach.
As I travelled internationally, collaborating with Luxury brands, Couture houses and Renowned designers, I realised something profound: that embroidery is not bound by geography or category. Its potential is limitless - and so is its meaning.
I immersed myself in studying Indian embroidery traditions — travelling to remote villages, sitting with artisans, documenting regional techniques, and listening to woven stories. I realised that embroidery was not just a form of decoration, but a language of culture and craftsmanship, and one that the world needed to hear more clearly.
Zari Embroideries was born from this belief that Indian handcraft can help shape the future of fashion, interiors, and innovation. That embroidery is not ornamental, but foundational.
